NEW rooftop restaurant to open at No.1 Spinningfields, Manchester

D&D London has signed an agreement with property investors and developers Allied London to launch a 9,500 square foot restaurant with a substantial outdoor terrace at No.1 Spinningfields in Manchester.

This will be D&D’s first restaurant in Manchester, its’ fourth in the UK outside London and is planned to open in autumn 2017.

Spinningfields, a lively 22-acre quarter, initially established itself as a booming business hub – with a growing office population of over 17,000 – the area is now considered as a must-go district, especially for luxury dining and drinking, with over 5.5 million visitors a year.

Des Gunewardena, Chairman and CEO of D&D London said:  “Expansion in Northern England continues to be a significant part of our group’s growth strategy and this announcement reflects that.

“Manchester is a fantastic city and we have watched closely over the last few years the resurgence of the restaurant scene in the city and in Spinningfields in particular. We are big fans of Allied London’s development and are very excited to be becoming a part of it. ”

D&D London, which made its first foray north with the launch of Angelica and the Crafthouse in Leeds, is also launching a restaurant on the top two floors of Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow, Scotland.   Other restaurants are located in Paris, New York, Tokyo and across London, Restaurants in London include Michelin starred restaurants – Angler and Launceston Place, South Place Hotel, Le Pont de la Tour, Coq d’Argent, Bluebird, German Gymnasium and Sartoria.

No.1 Spinningfields is the largest commercial building under construction in Manchester and will be the tallest office building to be built in the city ‎in the last 50 years.
