Its National Women’s Day, therefore, a great day to announce the Ladies of Restaurants (L.O.R), the female hospitality collective is coming to Manchester with an introductory event at Northern Restaurant & Bar on Wednesday 21 March 2018.
NATALIA Ribbe and Libby Andrews, co-founders of Ladies of Restaurants, are bringing the female hospitality collective to Manchester. The initiative was launched in 2016 to help women who work in hospitality meet other women for support and advice. The collective now has more than 500 members from all areas of the industry including front of house, back of house, marketing, PR and wine.
“We set up Ladies of Restaurants so that women who work — or want to work — in hospitality have a place to learn, grow and get support from other women (and like-minded men!) in our industry.
“After over a year of supporting women in London, it’s time to head to Manchester where there is a booming restaurant scene filled with wonderful ladies who can help inspire the rest of us in our careers,” said Libby Andrews, co-founder, Ladies of Restaurants.
“We are very excited to be welcoming Ladies of Restaurants to NRB in Manchester”, said NRB Director Sophie Helm.
“Women play a strong role in the Northern hospitality industry and we are delighted to be celebrating them at this event. There are 17 women in our Top Fifty Powerlist of Northern operators and we hope that this event will help develop and encourage many more in the future”.
Two people already involved in the Northern event are Louise Richards, General Manager of Hawksmoor and Lucy Noone, Development Manager of R Noone & Son and L.O.R Brand Ambassador.
Ladies of Restaurants will be meeting in the NRB Hub at 12pm on Wednesday 21 March at Manchester Central so pop in any time from 12:15 – 13.00 to meet the Ladies, ask questions, brainstorm ideas or just for a glass of fizz.
Northern Restaurant & Bar is the North’s hospitality exhibition. Returning to Manchester Central on 20 & 21 March, NRB18 hosts 275 exhibitors providing every product and service a hospitality business needs, delivers 65 exciting live food & drink demos, and brings the entire Northern hospitality industry together for two days of networking, discovery and inspiration.
