The names of the restaurants that are included in the Michelin guide to Great Britain and Ireland 2018 were announced on Twitter. And five of them are up north!
NO new Scottish restaurants have won a Bib Gourmand.
The new Bibs, announced on Twitter are: Haveli Ponteland, Newcastle upon Tyne, Jöro, Sheffield, Skosh, York, The Staith House, North Shields and the ‘small but perfectly formed’ neighbourhood restaurant, Noble, Holywood, Belfast.

The Bib Gourmand recognises simple yet skilful cooking at a reasonable price, which last year was set at £28.
Indian restaurant Haveli Ponteland, run by Atul More, said on twitter: “Thank you! We always appreciate feedback from our customers but it’s high praise indeed when it’s from Michelin.”

The winning Michelin restaurants were announced at The Brewery, East London and streamed live on Twitter today (2 October 2017).
