Speyside’s Station Hotel master mixologist Kieran Stephens is serving Christmas pudding in a cocktail glass as his signature drink over the festive season.
“At Christmas we are all guilty of over-eating but this new festive cocktail takes all the sweet and spicy flavours associated with Christmas pudding and mixes them with a special blend of alcohol and cream.”
Kieran’s starting point for his unusual recipe was not the bar, but the hotel kitchen.
He discussed the concept with the hotel’s head chef and gathered together currants, orange zest, brown sugar, apple, mixed spice and cinnamon to create a special blend.
Brandy, Grand Mariner, Kings Ginger Liqueur, Tia Maria and Disaronno and a large splash of double cream were added into the mix.
The four star hotel’s festive cocktail is served in a martini glass and even comes garnished with a sprig of holly.
