To celebrate the five-year anniversary, Henrock will host a week-long celebration from October 16-20, with a special dinner tasting menu.

HENROCK, Simon Rogan’s restaurant near Bowness, is set to celebrate its half-decade milestone in collaboration with Linthwaite House owned and curated by the Leeu Collection.

Linthwaite House, overlooking England’s largest lake, Windermere, is a luxurious 36-room Michelin Key boutique hotel, located in the very heart of England’s Lake District, a UNESCO world heritage site.

Set in 14 acres of established gardens and well-maintained private wooded grounds, it also has an idyllic tarn complete with boathouse and jetty.

The Henrock is named after a small rocky outcrop on Lake Windermere’s shore, known as ‘Hen Rock.’ It opened its doors in the autumn of 2019.

“Every dish at Henrock utilises produce from Our Farm as well as from loyal suppliers based across the region,” said Rogan.

But it is different to Rogan’s other restaurants. which, focus on British cooking and ingredients. Henrock also leans heavily on techniques and produce discovered on the team’s travels around the globe.

This includes influences from Asia, where Simon opened outposts of Roganic and Aulis in 2019, followed by The Baker & The Bottleman, Hong Kong, in 2022, and ION Harbour, Malta and Aulis Phuket, Thailand in 2023.

The special dinner tasting menu will be created by executive chef Paul Burgalières and head chef Mark, celebrating the traditional fifth-anniversary. A gift of wood (traditionally given for five-year anniversaries) will be served.

“Using the natural bounty that grows in and around British woodlands, including mushrooms, truffles, nuts, fruits, flowers, woodland herbs, and wild venison the two chefs have crafted a menu to delight.”

Sample dishes include Cartmel Valley venison blackened apple tart, begonia, Roasted Hen of the Woods, Bay shrimp, oxalis and Birch sap syrup, cherry blossom poached cherries and cobnut slice.
