ERROL’S Cocktail & Kitchen at the Rockefeller opened its doors late last month in Bowness-on-Windermere, Lake District, Cumbria.

The bar is part of a six-figure renovation of the old NatWest bank. It is the final stage of the renovation conducted by The Lakes Luxury Club who have restored the upper levels into luxury holiday rentals.

The ground floor includes a marble bar top and velvet booth seating, complimenting the bank’s classic original features such as the vault nestled behind the original safe door.

The vault with its huge chandelier is now a private area available for bookings of up to 12 people.

Faux gold bullion bars catch the eye, tastefully placed around the historic building, whilst magnums of Champagne entice those passing by, showcasing the selection of Champagne on offer – from Moët & Chandon to  Louis Roederer Cristal.

In the centre of the bar is the only Champagne vending machine outside of London, New York and San Francisco.

Guests can obtain a token from the bar to be inserted into the machine to choose from a variety of Champagnes.

There is also a Moët & Chandon penguin standing proudly in the corner holding a bucket of Champagne.

Lake District’s longest Cocktail Bar

Errol’s also has the Lake District’s longest cocktail bar where customers can watch mixologists’ create signature cocktails such as its Errol’s Bitter Gringo, a bold blend of Tequila, Blueberry Liquor, Plum Bitter, Hibiscus Lime and a hint of creamy egg white or, its elegant Purple Crown that combines Moët & Chandon Champagne with the luxurious notes of Cointreau, Peach, and Lavender.

Classics such as the timeless Martini or Mojito will also be on offer.

The ice cubes are also stamped with the old bank’s logo.

“Errol’s brings a relaxed pre-theatre-style experience to Bowness rather than a typical café or a late-night venue, said Errol’s marketing manager Fiona King.

“We’re proud to be stocking quality Champagnes, mixing up top-quality cocktails and serving a delicious Mediterranean-inspired menu.

“At Errol’s, you can sit at the bar and chat with our expert mixologists or get cosy in a booth soaking up the atmosphere.”
